Ngurambang means ‘Home / Country’ in Wiradjuri language. This Aboriginal owned & run Business was created by Husband & Wife team, Danielle & Wayne who are both very passionate about their culture & being able to share it with others.
Danielle is a proud Wulli Wulli woman from Central QLD, who manages the business. Danielle grew up in her home town of Theodore QLD where she, her husband Wayne & daughter Stella-May still live.
Wayne is the Artist & is a proud Wiradjuri/Maranganji (Mardigan) man. Wayne’s family originates from Cunnamulla in South West QLD on Kunja country. His mother’s country is Mardigan country, in Quilpie. He also has family connections in Lightning Ridge on Yuwaalaraay Country, his grandmother’s country is along the Lachlan & Murrumbidgee Rivers on Wiradjuri country.
Wayne’s family moved around a lot throughout QLD & NSW when he was growing up. He has done a lot of travel throughout his life. As a teenager Wayne’s uncle also named Wayne started teaching him about Aboriginal Culture & Lore.
Along his cultural journey he met a lot of strong cultural men & this is what inspires his art which showcases dreaming stories & connections to Mother Earth.
Wayne loves to share his culture with everyone & painting has allowed him to do that. He wants to be able to give people a piece of his journey, his cultural knowledge & experiences.
